2nd time on Sea Princess Med cruise - previously did this 3 years ago but chose to do it again as some of the destinations were different. Our age groups ranged from 76 to 17 with some in the middle and as anticipated, there was something for all of us to enjoy. My teenagers made some lasting friendships first time around so were looking forward to doing the same again - they were not disappointed and apart from a few shore excursions and most evenings for meals they generally spent time with people there own age. What I like about a cruise is there is somewhere for them to eat 24/7, and being teenagers, they eat often and at strange times (room service was also very popular !) My parents are in their 70's and wanted something different from a cruise. Full cooked breakfasts at the same time and in the same place and afternoon tea is there preference. My wife and I like a mixture of the two - but the flexibility of the dining options makes this possible. We quite often used the buffet restaurant but took our trays to an oustide table to eat.
Having cruised a number of times we feel comfortable at home on the Sea Princess - its a mid sized ship so you get to know people throughout the 2 weeks (staff and fellow passengers). The entertainment was of mixed quality - some good some average - but we was disappointed with the small sized audiences at many of the shows. Loved the art auctions (bought too many pictures !) and Movies Under the Stars. My mother and I both celebrated birthdays whilst on the cruise and was impressed with the attention given to us by the cabin steward (loads of balloons outside and inside staterooms) and waitress (loads of cakes and more balloons!) along with the singing head waiters !
Would we go on a third Med cruise ? Would like to do the Eastern Med at some stage and would probably fly next time to cut out the two days each way through the Bay of Biscay (not too rough this time but just time consuming). And would definetly use Princess again.

Question by Shuttleworth, BYFORD (03 Oct 08 09:09) about this REVIEW.
I have booked a cruise "Mediteranean Adventurer" for 1 August 2009 and although its on the Grand Princess I believe it has the same ports as yours being - Southampton, Malaga, Cartagena, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples/Capri, Corsica & Gibraltar. I live in Australia and I'm trying to get as much information about these ports as I can. It's just me (46) and my mum (72) & I don't want to just book the ships tours if we can do it ourselves safely and cheaply. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
