We have cruised several times and were again looking forward to our departure. After a stay overnight in Los Angeles at the Hilton Airport hotel, very good for quick transfer from the airport and very good standard. The next morning on the 17 jan we transferred to the ship.Arriving at 1.00pm we were as ever impressed with the first sight of the ship.Having sailed on Grand ,Golden ,Royal and Sea Princess it still excites you to view your new home for the next 2 weeks.Being Platinum we were speedily on and registration and finding our cabin took exactly 15 minutes from arriving at the dock, very impressive. We quickly settled in and enjoyed our first 5 days at sea on the way to Hawaii. These days were very relaxing before our busy evening schedule of pre or post dinner shows and we found the food and service excellent in the Internaional Dining Room. Our shore days were busy as we had 5 together as we visited the Hawaiian Islands. We found we could have on each island done our own thing but opted for a couple of trips in Lahaina we did the Ioa Valley and Tropical Plantation, and in Hilo we did the Highlights. Both trips we thought were good value for money and varied.Back on board we tried to find time for the numerous classes and presentations everyday. It is hard to fit everything in and relax.Choice of food is excellent but personally we could not justify the surcharge to dine in the other restaurants. The lunchtime buffets were varied with Mexican, Chinese and Chocolate and the afternoon milk and cookies is a must served poolside. We enjoyed 5 more days at sea on our journey back to Los Angeles making a stop at Ensanada Mexico. This was a great place and we would recommend the bus locally to La Buffadora to see the Blowhole and large craft market. We certainly enjoyed the cruise and itinery and ship and we are returning to the ship later in the year for a cruise in the Far East.
