Disappointed Couple

Having had a a wonderful cruise 15 years ago on the Regal Princess we were really looking forward to cruising with this line again, so you can imagine the disappointment we felt at the lowered standards that this cruise offered.
We had booked a balcony suite on Caribe deck, upgraded our flight to business class and sat back ready to enjoy 10 days of being pampered.
How wrong we were.
The problems started at Copenhagen airport where the Princess representative informed us that we had not got the right papers for transport so we could either make our own way to the ship or sign a chit and be charged on board which we did under protest.
We were duly charged for this but after a visit to the tour office it was obvious from our paper work that we had already paid and the cost was refunded immediately.
We had booked Any time dining for a table for 2 previous to arrival and presented ourselves for diner at 7.45 on the first night only to be confronted by a large queue and on reaching the front was informed that there was a 30 to 45 minute wait for a table and this situation continued for the rest of the cruise. The only way of avoiding this was to dine at 6pm or after 8.30pm.
Breakfast was a Nightmare as the selfservice Restaurants were so busy that it was virtually impossible to get a table and manoeuvre ones self around the sevice counters.
We then tried the seated service for breakfast and it took so long to be served that we almost missed our tour.
We were wrongly billed on 2 ccasions for items we never had with the first one taking 5 days and 3 visits to correct and the other one receiving offhand treatment from the receptionist.
The entertainment was poor and on the nights when there was an anticipated good show on it was extremely difficult to get a seat as the theatre holds 750 and there were in excess of 3000 passengers.
On the good side the service staff(with the exception those on reception) were excellent, well trained and went to any lengths to give satisfaction.
Stateroom small but with a large king size bed and the best soundproofing we have ever experienced on any cabin we have occupied.
We could go on at length, but suffice it to say it was a trip that apart from the places visited we wish we had never taken.
To round things off British Airways lost our luggage on the return journey at the dreaded Terminal 5!!!!
