I'm with Aldrich, the thought of being herded around like sheep horrifies me & I fail to see why a trip of two & a half hours means you can't go it alone. You will now get all the knee tremblers come on & tell you about the ship not waiting if your late back from a private tour, which is true of course, but in the last 60 cruises I/we have never got close to being left behind. If you do take the go it alone route, then research & planning is what it's all about, using Aldrich's advice. Regards
